We Aren’t Enemies – Wadada Begs Ex IGP Adamu To Return To APC

Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for 2027, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has appealed for calm and unity within the party.

Naija News reports that he also called on former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, to return to the APC. He made the appeal during a thank-you visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule at the Government House in Lafia after emerging as the party’s flag bearer.

The visit brought together APC leaders, government officials, and supporters from different parts of the state. Governor Sule welcomed the delegation and described the moment as a proud one for the party, restating his support for Wadada’s candidacy and expressing confidence in his chances ahead of the 2027 election.

Sule also spoke on the need for peace within the party after the primary election.

He urged members to avoid hostility toward opponents and instead maintain calm and respectful relations, saying that all those contesting positions in the state remain part of the same political community.

He also assured that he would allow Wadada space to lead without interference, except where necessary.

Wadada, while speaking on the political development, recalled how he accepted defeat in a past primary and still worked for the success of the party.

He used that experience to appeal to Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, who also contested the APC primary, urging him to return and support the party’s mission in Nasarawa State rather than remain outside it.

All those who are contesting against us are not our enemies. They also believe in Nasarawa State. Let us approach them with caution, not with hatred. Let us approach them with love.

“I conceded to a defeat in 2018 to 2019 and did not only concede but submitted myself to both the party and the government, which culminated in me spearheading the campaign council that delivered our proud engineer Abdullahi Sule.

“I call on him to learn from me. When and if he does that, he is not doing it for Wadada but rather doing it for Nasarawa State,” he said.
