Ex-Southampton Striker, Victor Udoh Dies In Nigeria

Former Southampton and Royal Antwerp forward, Victor Udoh, has died at the age of 21 in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that Udoh was reportedly found dead in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under circumstances described as suspicious.

According to Mirror UK, the exact cause of death had yet to be confirmed as of the time of reporting.

The young striker was said to have recently returned to Nigeria after the end of his stint with the Czech club, Dynamo České Budějovice.

He joined the Czech side after leaving Southampton in 2025.

Udoh had signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Southampton but spent only seven months at the club.

He did not make a senior appearance before leaving by mutual consent in search of regular playing time.

Promising Career In Europe

Naija News understands that before his move to England, Udoh played for a Belgian side, Royal Antwerp.

He joined Antwerp from Abuja-based Hypebuzz and rose through the club’s ranks.

The forward impressed at reserve level, scoring 12 goals in 21 matches, before making 28 first-team appearances for the Belgian club.

Reports said he was regarded as a promising talent during his early career in Europe.
