Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has arrived in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, to participate in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries.
Naija News reports that the ADC presidential primary for the 2027 general election is holding nationwide today, Monday, 25th May 2026.
Atiku is one of the aspirants hoping to clinch the ADC ticket for the 2027 election.
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged its presidential aspirants, party leaders and members across the country to embrace unity, discipline and peaceful conduct ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for today, Monday.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the forthcoming exercise as a defining democratic moment for both the ADC and Nigerians seeking a credible political alternative ahead of the 2027 elections.
The opposition party said it remained proud of its commitment to democratic principles and open primaries.
“The ADC remains proud to stand today as the only truly democratic party in Nigeria, because it is the only political party whose choice of presidential candidate is determined through open primaries,” the statement read.
