Premier League Results: Sunderland, Leeds Win, Fulham, Brentford Drop Points

Sunderland kept their European hopes alive with a stirring comeback win at Everton, becoming the first newly promoted side to surpass 50 Premier League points since Fulham in 2022-2023.

The Black Cats fell behind late in a dull first half when Merlin Rohl’s effort deflected off captain Granit Xhaka and looped past Robin Roefs. Sunderland improved sharply after the break and equalised through Brian Brobbey, who shrugged off James Tarkowski before finishing from Enzo Le Fee’s pass after a costly Jake O’Brien mis-control.

Le Fee then struck in the 81st minute after Everton failed to clear, and substitute Wilson Isidor sealed victory in stoppage time from Habib Diarra’s cross. Sunderland head into the final day still chasing a possible seventh-place finish and a first major European campaign since the 1970s.

Elsewhere, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s 96th-minute strike gave Leeds a dramatic 1-0 win over Brighton at Elland Road. Brighton dominated and fired 19 attempts but paid for their wastefulness when Calvert-Lewin capitalised on a weak backpass, rounded Bart Verbruggen and scored with Leeds’ only shot on target.

Brighton remain seventh on 53 points, just ahead of Brentford and Sunderland, before their final day Premier League clash with Manchester United. Leeds rise to 13th.

Brentford’s European push continued as Dango Ouattara scored twice in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace. Ismaila Sarr’s early penalty and Adam Wharton’s strike looked set to secure victory for Palace, but Ouattara rescued a late point that keeps Brentford eighth.

Fulham’s continental ambitions suffered a blow after a 1-1 draw at relegated Wolves. Matheus Mane scored before Antonee Robinson equalised from the spot, leaving Fulham’s top eight hopes fading.
