Another Ondo Gov’s Aide Quits, Resignations Rise To Three In 48 Hours
Another aide to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has resigned from office, bringing to three the number of officials who have stepped down from the administration within a matter of days.
Yinka Richards, who served as Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, tendered his resignation in a letter dated February 16, 2026. The resignation is expected to take effect on February 18.
In the letter addressed to the governor, Richards expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the administration.
He described his tenure as a privilege that enabled him to contribute to governance and developmental initiatives in Ondo State.
Richards explained that his decision followed careful consideration, adding that he intends to focus on a national assignment and advance the next stage of his political and professional career.
The latest development comes on the heels of the resignation of two senior media aides within a 48-hour period.
Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila resigned from his position as Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, while Olugbenga Abire stepped down as Special Assistant on Media.
The reasons for their resignations were not immediately made public.
As of the time of filing this report, the Ondo State Government had yet to issue an official statement addressing the recent wave of resignations within the governor’s team.
