Photos: Ozekhome Visits Obasanjo Amid Alleged London Property Fraud Case
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mike Ozekhome, has shared photos of himself cooling off with former president, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Naija News reports that the visit to Obasanjo comes amid criminal charges filed by the federal government against Ozekhome over an alleged forgery linked to a UK property dispute.
In the photos shared on his 𝕏 handle, Ozekhome is seen standing beside Obasanjo, who was dressed in a blue traditional outfit with a matching cap, while Ozekhome wore a cream-coloured native attire.
He captioned the post, “Prof Mike Ozekhome, SAN, CON, OFR, cooling off with former president Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, PhD, tonight. God is awesome indeed.”
Meanwhile, fresh evidence has emerged showing that a key document presented by Ozekhome before a London tribunal in support of his claim of ownership of a property in North London was fraudulent.
The development has triggered criminal charges against the senior advocate in Nigeria.
Although the document was admitted by the British court as genuine at the time, due to lack of contrary evidence, the issuing authority in Nigeria has now confirmed that it was fake.
According to Premium Times, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) confirmed that the Nigerian passport used as evidence in the property dispute was never legitimately issued.
In a letter addressed to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the NIS stated that passport booklet number A07535463, presented to support Ozekhome’s claim, was defective, reported stolen, and never personalised.
