Dabiri-Erewa Condemns Killing Of Nigerian Student In UK

‎The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has condemned the murder of a 20-year-old Nigerian student, Khaleed Oladipo, in Leicester, UK.

Naija News understands that the deceased, who was a second-year Cybersecurity student at De Montfort University, was fatally stabbed while on his way home to watch a football match.

His family has described him as an extremely loved son and family member whose life was cut short far too soon.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident, Dabiri-Erewa, in a statement by NiDCOM’s Public Relations Officer, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, described the incident as heartbreaking and a painful loss to both the Oladipo family and the Nigerian community at home and in the diaspora.‎

‎She also called on UK authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased, while reiterating NiDCOM’s commitment to the welfare and protection of Nigerians in the diaspora community.

‎Meanwhile, NiDCOM has condemned the murder of one Nigerian national, Emeka Christian.

According to the NiDCOM’s Public Relations Officer, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Christian was allegedly beaten to death by two of his brothers, Chukwudi Okafor, 31, and Samuel Eze, over a romantic dispute.

The Commission called on relevant Indian authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served.

It lamented that no family deserved such a deep heartbreak.

NiDCOM also urged Nigerians to resolve family disputes amicably through dialogue.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones during this painful time. No family should endure such heartbreak.

“NiDCOM calls on the relevant Indian authorities to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation, ensuring that justice is served without delay.

We also urge all Nigerians in the diaspora to always be their brothers’ keepers, resolve conflicts peacefully through dialogue, and uphold the highest standards of conduct.

“As ambassadors of our great nation in their respective domains, your actions abroad reflect on Nigeria’s image, let us choose unity, respect, and lawfulness in every situation.
