Three daughters of the Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, Engr. Apollos Samchi, have reportedly been abducted by unknown gunmen in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

Naija News learnt that the victims were kidnapped in the early hours of Monday during an attack on Samchi’s residence in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area.

SaharaReporters quoted a security source who disclosed that the incident occurred at about 12:53 am on January 26, following a distress call reporting gunshots around the Dumac Suites axis of Rantya.

According to the source, the attackers forced their way into the residence and carried out the abduction before fleeing the area.

During the attack, the family’s security guard, identified as Benard Makjwan, was shot in the stomach by the gunmen.

He was immediately rushed to the Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Jos, where he is currently receiving treatment.

“On arrival at the scene, it was discovered that some armed men suspected to be kidnappers had forced their way into the house of Engr. Apollos Samchi and abducted his three children – Nanlop Samchi, Kyenret Samchi and Favour Samchi, all females,” the source said.

The source added that investigations had commenced, while security agencies had intensified efforts to rescue the abducted girls.

He said the operation was being carried out in collaboration with the military and other security agencies to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of the victims.

However, no official statement has been issued yet by the Plateau State command of the Nigeria Police Force or the State Government.
