Updated: Chelsea Gets New Manager After Maresca’s Departure
Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior is set to be named the new manager of world champions, Chelsea football club.
Rosenior disclosed on Tuesday that he has “verbally agreed” to become the next manager of Premier League giants Chelsea, adding it was “an opportunity I cannot turn down”.
“It looks like I am going to be the next manager of that football club (Chelsea),” he said at a press conference held at his present club, Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
Liam Rosenior said: “Being Chelsea coach is an unbelievable opportunity at an incredible club, the world champions.
“I can go home, see my kids, sign for a magnificent club. I can’t turn down this opportunity.
“These 18 months at Strasbourg have been my best time.”
Rosenior appointment is coming days after Chelsea parted ways with their former manager, Enzo Maresca, after a fallout with the team’s executive.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have announced the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach. He’s signed a contract until 2032.
