Erling Haaland Becomes Quickest Player Ever To Hit 100 Premier League Goals
Norwegian striker, Erling Haaland added another remarkable chapter to his Manchester City story on Tuesday after becoming the quickest player ever to hit 100 Premier League goals.
The Norwegian reached the landmark during City’s match against Fulham at Craven Cottage, ending a brief dry spell emphatically.
Haaland struck midway through the first half, guiding City into the lead. The goal pushed him to a century in just 111 league appearances. It is a feat that sweeps aside Alan Shearer’s previous record, with the former Newcastle and Blackburn star needing 124 matches to reach the same mark.
Since joining City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Haaland has bulldozed his way through one milestone after another. He had gone three matches without scoring against Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen and Leeds, but the wait ended with a ruthless finish that reminded everyone of his destructive quality.
The move began with Jeremy Doku, who cut the ball back perfectly for Haaland. He took a swift glance before drilling a fierce effort from around 12 yards, leaving Bernd Leno rooted as the ball flashed beyond the Fulham goalkeeper.
The strike was his 15th league goal of the season and his 20th in all competitions.
Of his 100 Premier League goals, 71 have come from his powerful left foot and 17 from headers.
Although Shearer’s towering all-time record of 260 Premier League goals remains a distant target, Haaland’s scoring rate suggests that even that might not be safe in the long run.
