Hours To Ondo Election, APC Secretary, Muhammad, Gives ₦1 Million To Muslim Community
In less than 24 hours to the Ondo governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad, has donated ₦1 million to the Muslim community in the state.
Sulaiman Muhammad said the support was to aid the religious, social and interfaith activities of Muslim community in the state.
“In support of the religious, social and interfaith activities of the Muslim community in Ondo state, the Party’s National Organizing Secretary, HE. Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, OFR, donated ₦1 million to the Akure Juma’at Mosque during Friday’s Juma’at prayers at the Mosque,” the party stated on its X handle, Friday evening.
Naija News reported that the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bamidele Akingboye, had called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe the alleged stashing of cash in Ijako area of the state by politicians of the major parties.
Akingboye, who made the call while addressing journalists, also demanded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) take action against vote buying in Saturday’s election.
“If the EFCC Chairman did not tell us where the money that they brought into Ondo State, Ghana Must Go ( a bag), that they were carrying everywhere inside.
“We see a lot of money that they are discharging. If they want to do their job, they should go and bust all the hotels in Ijako tonight, they will see a lot of money there. Where did they get those cash from?
“I decided to abide by INEC rules and regulations. If you love me, vote for me. If you don’t love me, if you want to collect money, collect money. But I will not go against INEC regulation, because it is there that if they find you spending money to buy vote is against the law,” Akingboye said.
