Senator Elect of Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti has revealed that Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello offered her N50 million to step down for his anointed candidate at the 2019  election in the Kogi Central Senatorial district.

Making this allegation during an interview on Arise TV Morning Show on Wednesday, Akpoti, who revealed that the bribe was offered to her in 2018 while she contested for the senatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress, revealed that the governor increased the offer to N70 million.

Alleging  that  the governor was desperate to be a godfather, Akpoti suggested that Bello does not like being dared, adding that he always wants his words to be law.

“In 2018 before I joined the SDP and contested for the senatorial seat, I was in APC for pretty much three months, and I will say this, the governor called on me just like he called on 9 other aspirants at that time and telling each and everyone to step down, to some people he offered money, he offered me money as well,” she said.

“He offered me 50 million at first I turned it down, he said how about 70 million for you to step down for my anointed candidate who was the then senator, I rejected the money I told him  i wasn’t in the race for money,” she added.

Naija News recalls that Court of Appeal on Tuesday declared Akpoti winner of the Kogi Central senatorial district election that held in February.

Governor Bello had in the aftermath of the verdict congratulated Akpoti following her victory at the appeal court. However, the Senator dismissed his congratulatory message alleging that the governor made attempts to assassinate her.
