Popular Media Personality Is Dead

A well-known On-Air-Personality, OAP, at 95.5 Royal FM, Bayelsa, Samuel Barida has been found dead in his residence.

Naija News reports that the lifeless body of the popular On-Air-Personality was found in his residence on Monday, October 16.

Barida died in his apartment within the station’s staff quarters in Agudama-Epie, Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.

According to the radio station’s management in a statement issued on Tuesday, Barida’s body has been taken to the mortuary at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa.

The late Barida, originally from Ogoni in Rivers state, held the position of NUJ Chapel chairman at Royal FM before his untimely departure. He leaves behind his father, mother, sister, and other grieving family members.

Daughter Of Popular Borno Lawmaker Is Murdered

Meanwhile, a daughter of the lawmaker representing Ngala Constituency in the Borno State House of Assembly, Hon Bukar Abacha, has been reportedly murdered.

According to a Counter Insurgency Expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, the lady was strangled to death at the Gidan Dembe community in Maiduguri, the state capital, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

The husband of the victim, who took the corpse to the police station, was quoted to have said he found her lifeless body in his house with her hand and legs tied behind her back while her two-year-old child was crying.

The Gwange Police Division has evacuated the corpse to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for autopsy and investigation.
