NIPOST Deletes Post Recognizing Odeyemi As New CEO

The Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) has acknowledged, then deleted a post recognizing the appointment of Tola Odeyemi as the new Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the agency.

This comes after a series of drama that has heralded her appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

Naija News recalls presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement on Wednesday, announced the sack of Adeyemi Adepoju as the NIPOST boss and his replacement with Tola Odeyemi based on the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

However, drama erupted on Saturday when NIPOST claimed that President Tinubu has reinstated Adeyemi Adepoju, as the postmaster general of the agency.

The agency in a statement on Saturday released via its account on the X platform, claimed Adepoju has been restored to the position of the agency’s postmaster general by the President due to his exceptional leadership and performance.

Also on Monday, NIPOST workers shut down the head office of the service in Abuja, protesting against Odeyemi’s appointment.

The protesting workers denied entry to the newly appointed NIPOST CEO, saying her appointment was against their wish.

But despite the protest, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tola Odeyemi, resumed duty amid opposition.

Odeyemi reportedly arrived at the NIPOST headquarters around 1 p.m. and walked into her office to hold a meeting with top Directors. She reportedly refused the seat offered to her.

However, hours later, NIPOST via its official account on the X platform, (formerly Twitter), posted the picture of Odeyemi and acknowledged her as the new boss, captioning her picture with “Meet our New PMG/CEO.”

In another post, NIPOST also shared the profile of the new CEO.

But minutes later, another check on the handle of NIPOST shows the initial post recognizing Odeyemi as the new boss of the agency has been deleted.
