Founder of Champions Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla, on Sunday, listed important lessons to draw from the death of Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Mohbad, who died in a controversial manner.

Naija News reports that Mohbad died at age 27, sparking a national outrage with many young people storming the streets to demand justice for the late singer.

Following the outcry, the police last Thursday exhumed the corpse of the late Mohbad for autopsy.

Speaking with his congregation in a video posted on YouTube on Monday, Iginla said the singer’s corpse was treated with disrespect.

He listed six lessons to draw from Mohbad’s demise, saying: “You’ll always have enemies in this world whether you are good or bad. Some people are desperate and will always hate you no matter what.

People are very heartless. They will hate you in your death, while you’re alive, and they will disrespect your dead body. When I saw the way they curved the boy’s head in the coffin, the boy was bigger than the coffin. They treated the boy’s death like a chicken.

When people around you begin to cry for help, show them help. Don’t show them help after their death. If people around Mohbad had shown help, we would not be having this talk. He was crying in his songs and everywhere for help.”

For the fourth lesson, Iginla asked his congregation to pray against being popular in death.

He continued, “Whether you are born again or not when injustice is done against you, your spirit will cry out. Even presidents die, and people don’t stand for them like this. Then I understand that the love of God is not for only those who speak in tongues.”

The cleric concluded, “Never use your position or influence to victimise anybody. When it is time to fight, God will fight for both believers and unbelievers.”
