Police Arrest Three ATM Card Fraudsters In Kano

Three middle-aged men have been arrested in Kano State over alleged possession of people’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.

A statement issued by the state command of the Nigeria Police Force confirmed that the suspected fraudsters were found with 36 ATM cards from different banks.

According to the command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects were arrested after police received a report from a resident of Kofar Ruwa Quarters, Kano, that some unknown persons deceitfully swapped her ATM card at a bank on Murtala Muhammed Way, Kano.


Kiyawa said a team of detectives swung into action after receiving the report and arrested the three suspects.

He revealed those arrested as Mu’azzam Sabo, 25. A resident of Yakasai Quarters, Kano. Another, Auwal Nasiru, is said to be 27 years old. A resident of Tudun Maliki Quarters, Kano; and Auwal Sueiman, 25 years old of Medile Hamdala Quarters, Kano.

He said the case is under investigation.


Police Officer Dismissed Over Alleged Baby Theft In Lagos

Meanwhile, an Inspector of the Nigeria Police Force serving with Lagos State Command, Samuel Ukpabio, has been dismissed from the force over alleged baby theft.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the dismissal in a statement on Thursday, noting that the recommendation for Ukpabio’s dismissal was approved following some investigations.

“The recommendation for the dismissal of Inspector Samuel Ukpabio has been approved.


“This automatically paves way for his prosecution.

“The State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, assures Lagosians of his unwavering determination to police the state within the dictates of rule of law, civility and respect for human life,” Hundeyin noted via his Twitter handle.
