2023 Election: Labour Party Grabs 6 Senatorial, 34 Reps Seat As INEC Confirms Result

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday confirmed that 423 National Assembly seats have been confirmed from the February 25 election.

INEC added that supplementary elections will be held in 46 constituencies where results are yet to be declared.

The electoral umpire gave the update in a breakdown of results from last Saturday’s National Assembly elections.

According to the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, 98 out of 109 senate seats have been declared while in the house of representatives, 325 out of 360 seats have been decided.

The breakdown of results so far declared shows that the Labour Party (LP) won a total of six (6) seats in the Senate and has thirty- four (34) members in the House of Representatives.

The INEC Chairman disclosed that certificates of return will be presented to senators-elect on Tuesday at the national collation centre, Abuja, while members of the house of representatives-elect will receive theirs on Wednesday.

Labour Party Insists Peter Obi Defeated Tinubu In 2023 Election

The Labour Party has informed the All Progressives Congress that it has evidence that Peter Obi, its presidential candidate, won the election held last week Saturday.

The Obi-Datti presidential campaign organization of the Labour Party made this statement on Friday.

This comes after Bayo Onanuga, the head of media and publicity for the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign council, stated on Thursday that Tinubu would speak with Obi if the latter produced documentation proving he had won the election.
