The Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP-PCC), Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to hack the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Naija News reports that the presidential election is set to hold on the 25th of February across the nation.

Speaking at the PDP’s presidential campaign rally at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, on Thursday, Tambuwal warned that the opposition won’t accept any attempt to manipulate the election.

He said: “We are aware that they have brought hackers to hack the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS), to compromise the INEC servers, but we will not allow them. We would not accept any attempt by anybody to manipulate the electoral process.”

He stated that the in-fighting within the APC has plunged Nigeria into hardship, stressing that the ruling party has almost brought down the entire system in the pursuit of their selfish interests.

He cited the fear of imminent defeat at the presidential election as the reason the ruling party was bent on pulling down the system.

While allegeding that the APC was planning to bring in money, both old, new and fake currencies, with a view to deceiving them on election day, Tambuwal urged electorates to reject all their financial overtures.

The governor said: “It is your money that would have been used for your security, to provide you with infrastructure, to provide employment and enabling environment for your businesses to grow, your money which they had stashed away that they now want to come and buy your votes with.”
