Elsie Okpocha, the estranged wife of comedian Basketmouth has sent advice to those always pressuring single people to get married.

Elsie, in a video, urged Nigerians to stop making people to rush into marriage as they would end up rushing out.

Naija News recalls that some weeks back, Basketmouth had taken to his verified Instagram page to announce that he and his wife were getting a divorce.

In the now-deleted post he wrote, “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage.

“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.

“We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”

However, in a video making the rounds on social media, Elsie while spotting her wedding ring has berated those who always question women on the reason they are not married.

She argued that if people end up rushing into marriage because of societal pressure they would also end up rushing out of it.

Elsie insisted that it is unfair to push people into getting married considering the amount of work one has to put into it to make it work.
