Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Swaziland, 20 Other African Nations To Hold Diverse Election In 2023

The year 2023 is a significant one for the African continent as the giant of the continent, Nigeria along with 23 other nations are set to hold major elections.

Naija News reports that the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa has revealed that countries like Nigeria, Gabon, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, liland, Sudan, and Zimbabwe are set to hold their presidential elections in the year 2023.

While other nations like the Central African Republic, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Togo and Swaziland are also preparing for regional, district and local elections.

According to the electoral institute, Nigeria is getting ready to hold its Presidential, House of Representatives and Senatorial elections, State Assemblies & Governors, while countries like the Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Guinea and Mozambique are set to hold their Local elections in 2023.

It was gathered that Benin Republic, Djibouti would also be holding its National Assembly elections, Comoros is also preparing for its Island Governors elections and Gabon for its Presidential, Legislative & Local elections.

While Ghana prepares for its District, Local & Unit in 2023, Guinea-Bissau joins the league for its People’s National Assembly & Senate as well as Liberia and Libya for Presidential and Presidential and Parliamentary respectively.

Madagascar is set to hold its Presidential, Mali to hold Local, House of Representatives & Senate, while Mauritania is set for National Assembly, Regional & local and Sierra Leone for President, Parliamentary and Local Councils and liland (autonomous) for Presidential elections.

Other nations on the continent include South Sudan set for President, National Assembly, local, Sudan for Presidential, Council of States, National Assembly, State Legislatures, State Governors, local and Swaziland for Senate, House of Assembly, Urban local, Tinkhundla all in 2023.

Togo is also slated to hold its Regional election and Zimbabwe to hold President, Senate, House of Assembly & Local.
