NSTIF Boss, Michael Akabogu Keeps Mum On NYSC Certificate Forgery Scandal

The Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Michael Akabogu, has kept mum over the allegation of forging his National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate.

Naija News reports that Akabogu was accused of forgery by a whistleblower in a petition forwarded to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

In the petition to the Police, the NSITF boss was accused of allegedly parading a fake NYSC Discharge Certificate with the Number: A030544.

According to the petition, Akabogu claimed he was mobilised for the compulsory one-year national service, with NO. OG/ FUTO/ 91/23402 for the first Batch, from October 4, 1991, to October 2, 1992.

However, the Police have summoned the NSITF boss over the forgery allegation in a letter issued on December 8, 2022, and asked him to report to Utako Division in Abuja on Monday, December 12.

Also, the NYSC has said in a letter signed by the Acting Director of Corps Certification, Ibrahim A.M, that it did not issue the Certificate to Akabogu.

Meanwhile, the NSTIF boss is yet to respond to the forgery allegation as of the time of filing this report.
