Fire Guts Four-Storey Building In Lagos – LASEMA Confirms
Reports reaching Naija News at the moment confirmed there was an inferno on Sunday around Martins Street in the Lagos Island area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that a four-storey building in the area was gutted by the fire whose cause is yet to be ascertained.
Confirming the incident, the Permanent Secretary, of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, revealed in a terse statement that the shop where the inferno emanated from was used in storing clothing materials.
He said, however, that no casualty was recorded in the incident. Oke-Osanyintolu said, “The agency responded to distress calls concerning the fire outbreak at Martins Street, Lagos Island, and upon arrival at the scene, a shop on the top floor of a four-storey building was found to be gutted by fire.
“Further information gathered revealed that clothing materials were stored inside the shop. Fortunately, there was no casualty involved in the incident.
Naija News understands that responders to the incident include the Federal Fire Service, Lagos State Fire Service, and the UBA fire service.
The agencies worked together to put out the fire and prevent its spread to nearby buildings.

Meanwhile, supporters of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu and the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday held a 5-Million man walk in Lagos State.
Naija News reports that despite heavy downpours in the early hours of Sunday, the chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, led different groups during the walk.
The rally which was sponsored by MC Oluomo witnessed a large number of supporters who converged on Teslim Stadium and National Stadium, Surulere.
The rally held ahead of the 2023 general elections had in attendance Nollywood stars led by Saidi Balogun.
Some of the Nollywood stars were dressed in different colours of insignia bearing Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.
Security agencies like the Nigeria Police, Department of State Service, DSS, and Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps. LNSC and several others provided security for the residents and participants.
MC Oluomo disclosed that the decision to hold the rally as earlier scheduled followed approval by APC chieftains and stakeholders in the state.
