The Nigeria Police Force have awarded the sum of ₦9,800,000.00 to families of its personnel in Kogi State who died in active service.

Naija News understands that the reported amount was presented to the families in a cheque on Thursday by the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka.

Representing the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, while presenting the cheques to the families of the deceased officers, Egbuka said the development was necessary as it was part of the IGP’s “Family welfare insurance” aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased police officers.

This, according to him, was to further boost the morale of other officers who are in active service. CP Egbuka appreciated the Inspector General of Police for alleviating the hardship faced by the families of the deceased officers.

He, thereby, urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money for the betterment of their families.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the IGP for the gesture and promised to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.
