CBN Speaks On Introducing New Naira Policy, To Exchange $1 Dollar For ₦125

Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele says the apex bank remains committed to developing the agricultural sector and other sectors of the economy.

The CBN Governor, stated this at the commissioning of Sebore Dairy Factory in Adamawa State.

He described the dairy plant as one of the successes recorded by the apex bank in terms of intervention across agro value chains, revealing that many such factories are on the way in the country.

Represented by the Head of Retail Agric Division, Mr Chika Nwanje said the CBN’s intervention was to reduce Nigeria’s imports of produce adding however that the bank is currently executing such massive agribusiness projects in Niger, Kaduna, Ekiti and Plateau States.

The Special guest of honour at the event who is the Governor of Kwara State, Abulrahman Abdulrazaq noted with satisfaction the establishment of the dairy plant which he said will add value to the economy of the country.

He observed that the plant will address national and food security as according to him herders will remain in one place, making money without indulging in any hazard, he called on the federal government to inject more support in that regard.

The Governor added that Kwara State will be partnering with Sebore International farms to keep dairy farmers in good relationship so as to forster peace in the state.

Earlier, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sebore International Farms, Malam Aminu Nyako said the event marks 40-year anniversary of the Farms as it was established in 1982 by his father, former Adamawa Governor, Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako.

In his vote of thanks, the founder of Sebore International Farms who doubles as the former Governor of Adamawa State, Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako went down memory lane on how he established the factory that exports mangoes from Nigeria.

He thanked the Central Bank of Nigeria for selecting Sebore Farms as the forerunner of its backward integration programme on the scale for dairy products in the country and the Providus Bank for giving all the support required.
