FG Okays Purchase Of 21 Vehicles For FRSC At N660m

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Lagos Sector Command has on Saturday stated that its operatives will be deployed across the state to carry out drunk test on motorist.

Olusegun Ogungbemide, Lagos FRSC Sector Commander, stated this in Lagos over the weekend.

He said: “citizens who desire to celebrate on that day must ensure that whoever is driving the vehicle stays away from alcoholic drink to avoid being victims of road traffic crashes due to drunkeness or overspeeding.

“Distracted driving is one of the dangerous activities engaged in by motorists on the day hence the need to adopt defensive driving for safe trips back to their destinations.”

He stated that to ease their assignments security officers would carry breathalyzers to test motorists and if anyone was caught driving under the influence they would be apprehended immediately.

In other news, one person has been recovered dead from the building which collapsed on Saturday in the Yaba area of Lagos State

Naija News had earlier reported that a three-story building collapsed on Akanbi Crescent.

An eyewitness disclosed that the building under construction collapsed into a building beside it.
