Abia State University, Uturu, ABSU, has banned students from driving private vehicles on the campus.

Notification of the ban was made public in a press statement released on Tuesday by the Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu.

It is believed the ban was introduced to curtail the display of ill gotten wealth by internet scammers, popularly called Yahoo boys and other fraudsters.

Students who fail to adhere to the new directive by the varsity management would face disciplinary actions

The statement reads: “Henceforth, only staff and accredited visitors would be allowed to drive their vehicles into the campus”

“Any student who violates this directive, which is in the interest of the University community, shall face severe disciplinary action.”
