FBI ‘Exposes’ How Diezani Collected Oil Contract Bribes To Fund Jonathan’s 2015 Election

Documents from the Federal Bureau of  Investigation(FBI) have suggested that Alison Madueke-Diezani collected $300,000 Per oil contract to fund Jonathan’s 2015 election.

The FBI revealed that the charges were part of the court affidavits filed in the prosecution of  British national and former West African executive at Glencore, Anthony Stimler, reports the Peoples Gazette.

The former minister of petroleum is suspected to have enacted a project which involved contractors paying a sum of $300,000  per month to secure oil contracts.

The money was allegedly used to fund ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 presidential election, the bribe collection began in  2014 and lasted for several months before the 2015 election began.

Though no specific names were revealed in the FBI papers, Madueke has been identified by various sources including Bloomberg as the Foreign Official 1 referred to in the document.

FBI investigations alleged that Stimler and other local and international oil contractors were part of the people that paid Madueke for the oil contracts she awarded under favorable conditions

“On or about September 25, 2014, Co-conspirator 6 sent an email to STIMLER advising that Foreign Official 1 had stated that “all the customers of NNPC are giving in advance [$300,000] each month/cargo plus a certain amount which varies at the moment” in connection with a then-upcoming political election,” the document said.

NNPC under the leadership of Madueke also received a sum of $200,000 on oil cargoes. Stimler was working for Swiss based Glencore as at that time and helped in the financial transfers from  Switzerland to NNPC. Jonathan and Madueke have been accused of theft worth over $32 billion during their administration.

Bloomberg has also revealed that $900,000  bribes from oil deals went to Buhari’s re-election campaign in 2019.
