Joy Nunieh, former acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), on Monday, accused Senator Godswill Akpabio, minister of Niger Delta affairs of attempting to rape her.

Nunieh however added that she slapped the Minister when he made the attempt.

She disclosed during an interview on Arise TV that the incident happened at the minister’s guest house in Abuja.

Nigerians have started reacting to the allegation, taking to the streets of Twitter to make their opinions known about the development.

Some have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take immediate action and investigate such a grievous allegation against one of his Ministers, while also addressing other serious national issues.

Others are of the opinion that Nunieh must provide proof of the allegation.

While even others are corroborating the woman’s allegation.

The allegation is coming at a time Ibrahim Magu of the EFCC is also under investigation for alleged corrupt practices.
