Our Parents Failed Woefully In Training The Male Child – Djinee Reacts To Uwa’s Rape

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Osayamwen Donald, better known as Djinee, has reacted to the death of Uwa Omozuwa, a 22-year-old UNIBEN student who was sexually molested and murdered in a cold blood during the last weekend.

Naija News understands that Uwa was raped and murdered by some yet to be identified faces while she was reportedly studying inside a church.

The unfortunate event has received condemnation by concerned Nigerians over the weekend, making the hashtag #JusticeForUwa trend on the social media as citizens demanded that the government should act fast and ensure that the perpetrators of the evil act are brought to justice.

Reacting to Uwa’s death, Djinee took to his microblogging site account to note that parents have failed woefully in the upbringing of the male child in the society.

According to the Ego crooner, If parents have done well in educating the male child against violating the opposite gender among other crimes, the society would have less trouble from the male gender as it were today.

Djinee alleged that parent focuses more on the female child than on the male child, and hence the reason for some indiscipline acts and wickedness carried out by some male child.

He said, “Uwa’s story breaks me. We all have to admit that our parents have failed woefully in the raising of the male child. Concentrating too much on the conduct of the female child when it’s actually the males who have the higher propensity to do evil! #JusticeForUwa.”

He further revealed that an incident which happened recently with one of his sisters had forced him to secure another apartment with much security, causing him more money than the former.

We have to understand how a system (be it parenting, legal, cultural or societal) increases the TENDENCY of a crime happening to a particular gender, race, ethnicity or religious belief more than the other(s). Most times you'll find your root cause there.
