Coronavirus: WHO Releases List Of African Countries With Highest Cases

The Regional Office of the World Health Organization in Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, has revealed the number of Coronavirus confirmed cases in the continent.

The Health agency noted that the number of confirmed cases in Africa has risen to over 75,000 in the past 24 hours.

The development was revealed by the UN health agency on their official Twitter account on Friday.

According to the tweet, COVID-19 has killed 2,500 people in the continent, while 25,000 people have recovered from the virus.

“Over 75,000 confirmed #COVID19 cases on the African continent – with more than 27,000 recoveries & 2,500 deaths,” it said.

The WHO African Region COVID-19 dashboard showed that South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Ghana, and Nigeria have continued to top the list of countries with the highest reported coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Thursday night announced another 193 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 5162.
