COVID-19: Another WHO Staff Tests Positive In Bauchi

Bauchi State government has in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, April 21 confirmed that another staff of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has tested positive for novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The report which was revealed by the Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, gave that another staff of the health sector has been found positive of the global pandemic, a development which brings the total number of active cases in the state to three.

It could be recalled that a new case of COVID-19 was recorded in Bauchi state a few days ago.

The new case/patient is a staff of the World Health Organisation who has a travel history to Kano, Naija News understands.

Reporting the second case, Mohammed explained that the new case had made contact with the first WHO official which earlier tested positive in the state following his journey to Kano State.

He said, “The new case is another WHO staff. This new case is a contact from the first WHO staff that tested positive because his contacts from Kano and Bauchi were traced and isolated.”

Meanwhile, Sadiya Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has explained that the Federal government will be using BVN/Bank accounts and mobile phone records to identify poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
