COVID-19: 289 Deaths Recorded As Coronavirus Cases Rise To 7,123 In Africa

Confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Africa has been summed up to 7,123 in a report by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

According to the report which was made available on the official Twitter account of the health agency on April 3, the global epidemic, coronavirus (COVID-19) recorded in the 50 African countries is now 7,123 while deaths recorded so far is 289 with a total of 592 persons who have recovered from the virus.

Nigeria Records 20 New Coronavirus Cases, Two Deaths

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night announced that Nigeria has recorded 20 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19).

This was disclosed by the NCDC in a post on its Twitter page.

Eleven cases were confirmed  in Lagos, three cases confirmed in the FCT, 3 in Edo, two in Osun and one in Ondo

Two new deaths have also been recorded in Lagos and Edo State, with twenty-five cases discharged.

Full List of Areas With Coronavirus Cases In Lagos

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has released a list of areas with the highest numbers of confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.

Prof. Abayomi gave the statistics on Friday while giving an update of COVID-19 situation in the state.

According to the Lagos Commissioner, Eti-Osa Local Government Area tops the list with 47 cases, followed by Ikeja – 24; and Lagos Mainland – 14.
