Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has suspended his Commissioner for Water Resources, Abdulmumuni Danga, over alleged assault and rape.

The governor also ordered an investigation into the incident.

Naija News reports that a lady identified as Elizabeth Oyeniyi had accused the Commissioner of assaulting and raping her.

Oyeniyi was allegedly assaulted after posting a comment about Danga’s step-sister, who has been her friend for years.

A viral video of her showed the bruises sustained after the attack by the Commissioner.

Oyeniyi had told Premium Times that Danga personally flogged her and said he could have killed her were it not for her young son who was with the mom.

According to her, Danga then stripped her while at least 15 men, who worked for him, watched. The suspected thugs videoed the nude woman as she was being whipped and humiliated.

After the attack, Oyeniyi accused Danga of driving her to a hotel close to the Kogi State Government House in Lokoja, the state capital, where he raped her three times overnight.
