Protest In Sagamu Over The Death Of Tiyamiyu, AKA Kaka

The Sagamu area of Ogun State is in disarray after angry youths took the streets of the town to protest over the alleged killing of Tiyamiyu Kazeem popularly known as Kaka by the Police under the suspicion that he was a Yahoo Boy.

The youths in Sagamu went wild after news got to them that the young man who was arrested in Sagamu alive without resistance and taken to Abeokuta had been shot dead by the police while taking him down to Abeokuta.

The spokesperson of the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that no policeman shot anybody dead, he further stated that the deceased was a suspected criminal.

He added that the young man was accused of always kitting himself in full military uniform to harass and intimidate members of the community.

Oyeyemi noted that this prompted that Police Inspector attached to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta to stormed the area for his arrest.

He revealed that the deceased while being taken to Abeokuta jumped out of the car which developed fault along the way to Abeokuta and while he tried to run across the road a speeding car knocked him down and he died in the process.

He noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kenneth Ebrimson, had given directive for the arrest of the Inspector for an investigation to ascertain what happened in the incident.

An unverified source has revealed that two police officers have been killed while three protesters have lost their lives.
