Fowler And FIRS: Who Will Be The Next Chief Tax Collector For Nigeria

The tenure expiration of the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr. Babatunde Fowler, has raised several questions in the minds of  top stakeholders on whom will be the next chief tax collector for Nigeria.

Naija News recalls that Mr. Fowler finished his tenure today as the FIRS boss with no indication that he would get a second term from the presidency.

Mr. Fowler, who was a childhood friend and former classmate of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, was appointed as the FIRS chairman on August 20, 2015 and was confirmed by the Senate on December 9, 2015.

Sources at the FIRS, however, revealed that since Sunday which was the last day of his tenure in office, it was expected that the handover would be done later today to the most senior director in the agency.

However, an official communication is still been awaited on the development.
