Senate Under My Watch Was Not A Rubber Stamp - Lawan

The Kogi state Governor, Mr. Yahaya Bello has gotten approval for his ten billion naira loan he requested from the federal government.

Speaking on the approval of the loan, the Senate President, Mr. Ahmed Lawan revealed that it was necessary for the release of the loan request for Kogi state as it has been delayed for too long.

The approval by Senate, however, met resistance by Senators from the opposition party. The Senators questioned the timing of the approval of the loan.

Minority Leader, Senator Enyinaya Abaribe who spoke on behalf of the opposition lawmakers asked the Senate to delay the approval until next week.

Naija News understands that the payment of N10 billion loan was to settle local debts incurred by the Kogi State government as a result of the projects executed on behalf of the Federal Government.
