Boko Haram Kills NGO Worker

Information made available to Naija News on Wednesday has it that Boko Haram terrorists have killed one of the abducted aid workers in Borno State.

It was gathered that the insurgents also threatened to execute other aid workers in its custody citing deception from the government as their reason.

The execution was carried out by the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), a splinter of Boko Haram which has been growing in power and influence in north-eastern Nigeria.

The aid worker killed is said to be a staff of the Action Against Hunger and one of the six aid workers kidnapped by the terrorists about two months ago.

Naija News recalls the Nigerian Army last week, closed down the office of the NGO in Borno state, accusing it of providing support for the Boko Haram insurgents.

The recent killing and threat were confirmed in a Twitter post on Wednesday by respected journalist, Ahmad Salkida.

The post reads:

“Just In: #ISWAP has executed one of the six aid workers, working with the Action Against Hunger that were abducted two months ago in Borno. One of the male aid workers was executed at close range in a short video clip seen by this reporter.”

“The group, in a horrific video of the execution, said it took the action because “the government deceived them” following months of what is now known as secret negotiations between a team of intermediaries and unnamed officials.”

“ISWAP has also threatened to execute the other remaining staff of the International Non Governmental organization (ACF/AAH). Recall, the INGO was declared persona non grata last week by the
@HQNigerianArmy for aiding terrorism in the region, an allegation the INGO denied.”
