APC, PDP Senators Disagree Over Electronic Transmission Of Election Results

The Nigeria Senate has disclosed that it will send a message to President Muhammadu Buhari notifying him if its readies to receive his communications.

The Red chambers revealed that it will send a message through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) to Buhari.

It stated that the president would be informed that a quorum of the 9th Senate has been formed and its leaders elected.

The Senate also stated that a congratulatory message would be sent to the House of Representatives over the elections of its Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and Deputy Idris Wase and also inform them of the election of Senate President Ahmed Lawan and Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.

The upper legislative chambers also stated that it would inform international parliamentary bodies such as the African Union (AU), the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Others are the ECOWAS Parliament, the Pan-African Parliament and the Association of Senate, Shoora and Equivalent Council in Africa and the Arab World Association (ASSECAA) of its inauguration.
