Suspended National Chairman of the PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf remains its governorship candidate in Kano State ahead of Saturday’s election.

The party was reacting to an Appeal Court ruling which stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from removing Yusuf’s name from the governorship list in the state.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP on Friday, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party called on stakeholders to be guided by the court ruling.

“The order of the Court of Appeal on Thursday, March 7, 2019, restraining INEC from removing the name of Engr. Abba Yusuf from the list, as the governorship candidate for the PDP, has completely put to rest all controversies regarding the PDP candidate for the election.

“The Court of Appeal is commended for delivering justice by upholding the lawful nomination of Engr. Abba Yusuf as the PDP candidate for the Kano state governorship election.

“All stakeholders are advised to note the order of the Court of Appeal and be guided accordingly,” the statement reads.
