Man Arraigned In Court For Assaulting Ikeja Electric Worker

The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man identified as Abiodun Makinde.

According to report the middle-aged man allegedly beat up a worker of a power distribution company, Ikeja Electric, Oluwaseun Onate, while carrying out his duties on Aberuagaba Street in the Oshodi.

A further report revealed that Onate was disconnecting the electricity assess of customers who were yet to pay their bills when Makinde reportedly attacked him.

Makinde after the assault fled the scene of the attack and was later apprehended at his hideout after an organised search was carried out.

The suspect was brought before the Ogba Magistrates’ Court on two counts of assault and breach of peace.

Makinde pleaded not guilty to the charges, however, the presiding magistrate, Dan Oni, granted him bail and ordered that he should be remanded in the Kirikiri Prison until the bail conditions were met.

The case was thereafter adjourned till March 14, 2019, for further hearing.
