Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, has reacted to the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in which Luka Modric won the award.

Buffon, when asked what he thinks about Ronaldo’s absence, said the Portuguese captain was free to decide what he wants to do in his life.

“I think we are all free people,” Buffon told reporters, according to Goal.

“Everybody decides what he wants of his life,” he said.

Ronaldo and Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi had dominated the award for ten years now.

The pair have won an incredible five awards each, with Ronaldo equaling Messi’s tally last year.
