Kwara PDP Chairman, Akogun Oyedepo Lobbying For APC Chairmanship

Published

There are strong indications that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State, Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, is holding talks with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

Oyedepo is holding talks with key player of Kwara APC and Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in order to absorb his political structure and integrate them into the APC system.

Recall that former chieftain of APC, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, in 2014 cross carpeted to the PDP when the senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki moved to APC.

Naija News learnt from a reliably source that one of the major demands of Akogun is lobbying to become the chairman of APC being the leader of opposition struggle in Kwara Politics.

Akogun who is known to be working assiduously for the Hon. Moshood Mustapha’s governorship bid is ready to shift ground and announce his defection from PDP once his demand of becoming Kwara APC is obliged as a result of the planned defection of Saraki political structure into PDP as well as the possibility of eventually hijacking the party.
