EFCC Detains Kaduna Ex-governor, Yero, Ex-minister, 2 Others

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) zonal office in Kaduna has arrested and detained the Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Ramalan Yero in preparation of his arraignment before the court tomorrow.

Also in custody of the Anti-graft agency is Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abubakar Gaya Haruna, the former Secretary to the state government, Hamza Ishaq and former minister, Nuhu Wya.

An official of the commission who chose to remain anonymous stated that they were being held in preparation for their arraignment tomorrow.

“The case is coming up tomorrow so I can confirm to you that the former governor is here with us and he will be arraigned at the courts with the three others” the source said.

Yero was arrested and is to be arraigned for the role he play in the N750 million PDP campaign disbursement before the general election in 2015.

They were interrogated by the EFCC last week and made to sign some papers needed for the investigation procedure, but weren’t arrested.

They were held back today due to the case coming up at the court tomorrow (Thursday).
