Tunde Kelani, the legendary Nigerian film maker yesterday February 26, 2018, turns 70, the cinematographer has been known to have produced many evergreen movies in the country.

Movies like “The Dilema of Rev. Father Michael,” a collaboration between Kelani and Adebayo Faleti,”Kosegbe,” “Agogo Eewo” and “Narrow Path, will forever remain in our heart for the lessons and right messages they have passed to us about our culture and about the history of our nation Nigeria”.

Tunde Kelani started his Mainframe Films and Television Productions in the year 1991, movies which main aim is to portray a good side of our cultures in Nigeria.

1. Saworoide

The movie “Saworoide” main aim was to define the several cultures that are been praticed in the country as a whole and the beauty behind this cultures.

Saworoide talks about the setting in a Yoruba land in the town of Jogbo, where no king can be crowned without the “Saworoide” which is a big talking drum is being played by the right person.

The movie celebrates the beauty behind our cultures, it also explores how Nigeria has dealt with civil rule and military dictatorship.

2. Ti Oluwa Ni Le

“Ti Oluwa Ni Ile” is a Nollywood Yoruba drama film sequel directed by Tunde Kelani. Released in 1993 through Mainframe Films and Television Productions, the film was Tunde Kelani’s debut film as a film director.

The movie is directed by Tunde Kenali, written by Kareem Adepoju and had the following as the cast in the movie, Kereem Adepoju, Dele Odule, Oyin Adejobi, Jide Oyegunle and Yemi Shodimu

In the movie “Ti Oluwa Ni Le,” a certain set of people in a land employed the help of a traditional chief to sell an ancestral land fraudulently to a business man, who plans to build a petrol station.

3. Oleku

In 1997, this timeless love story was released. The movie sparked a fashion revolution in Nigeria with the short aso oke Iro and Buba called Oleku.

The story centers around Ajani, a final year student of the University of Ibadan who is seriously looking for a life partner, partly in response to pressures from his mother.

He already has a girlfriend, ASAKE, stunningly beautiful but has just met another pretty, tall, slim and dark girl, LOLA.  ASAKE who has just finished sixth form teaches in a school in town while LOLA is a first year student in the university.

4. Ayo Ni Mo Fe

Ayọ Ni Mọ Fẹ is a Nollywood Yoruba drama film sequel that was directed by Tunde Kelani and released in 1994 through Mainframe Films and Television Productions.

Ayo in a reckless move impregnates an underage Adunni. They are hurriedly packaged into a doomed marriage. Jumoke is rudely shocked when she discovers this state of affairs.

The likes of Yomi Ogunmola, Bola Obot, Yinka Oyedijo and Lere Paimo were casted in the movie

5. Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt is woven around Ngozi, a young elegant Igbo lady and Yinka a young man of Yoruba origin who meet and fall in love during the National Youth Service.

Their eventual marriage, against folk wisdom soon develops problem fueled by rumours of extra-marital affairs which destroy trust between a devoted Ngozi and a jealous Yinka.
