This Herbalist Duped Me Of N245,000: Woman Cries Out In Court

An Herbalist, 48-year-old Raji Ibrahim, is presently facing trial at an Ikeja Magistrate court, after accusations that he duped a woman of N245,000 under the pretense of giving her herbal to get her pregnant with twins.

Naija News gathered the accused received N245,000 from the complainant after promising to give her herbal pregnancy concoctions that would produce twins.

According to Police sgt Micheal Unah, he was said to have committed the offence on January 29 at 2.50p.m. at Ajegunle Bus Stop, Abule-Iroko, off Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

“The accused fraudulently collected the sum of N245,000 from the complainant with a promise to give her medicine that will enable her to conceive and deliver a set of twins.”

The offences violated sections 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

The accused was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 by the ruling Magistrate, Mr. A. A. Fashola.

Fashola also stated that a surety who is gainfully employed, with an evidence of three years’ tax payment must be made available too.
