Boko Haram: Army Kills 20 Insurgents, Recovers Weapons

Nigerian Troops serving under the Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno State have killed 20 Boko Haram members and recovered some weapons.

Weapons supposedly recovered from the terrorists include 3 Toyota Land Cruiser Gun Trucks, 5 AK-47 Riffles, 3 Fabrique Nationals (FN) Riffles, 2 G3 Riffles and 1 Pump Action Rifle.

Senate Fumes Over Innoson Boss’ Arrest, Directs Committee To Conduct Investigation

The Senate has waded into the arrest of the founder and chairman of Innoson Automobile Group, Innocent Chukwuma by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Naija News reported that Chukwuma was arrested at his residence in Enugu on Tuesday morning.

The Senate on Wednesday therefore, mandated its committee on anti-corruption and financial crimes to investigate the matter and report back within 24 hours.

APC Is Intimidating PDP Leaders – Uche Secondus

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government of intimidating its leaders.

Akoh Urges President Buhari To Sign Peace Corps Bill

National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Dr Dickson Akoh on Wednesday, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill to address youth unemployment and restiveness in the country.

He made the call at a Stakeholders’ Meeting organised by the Northern Forum of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Abuja.

Fuel Scarcity: NNPC Increases Petrol Supply

As a result of the hardship Nigerians are facing in purchasing petrol, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has stated that it has increased petrol supply.

The increase in supply was done to end the fuel scarcity and ensure queues vanish from fuel stations.
