Former Oyo Gov, Ladoja to contest for PDP national chairman seat

A former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has joined the race to contest for the position of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

It would be recalled that Ladoja returned to PDP few months ago after decamping to the Accord Party about 8 years ago to contest the state’s governorship position during the 2015 general elections which he lost.

Though disengaged, Maina can still run for governor in 2019 – Aisha

Co-convener of BringBackOurGirls (BBOG), Aisha Yesufu,  has implied that former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina, may have wanted to be disengaed from Civil Service.

She alleged that the ex-Pension boss’s disengagement may have been a scheme to prepare him for 2019 governorship election.

President Buhari did not take picture with Maina – Presidency

The Presidency has reacted to report circulating that President Muhammadu Buhari took photograph with Adbdulrasheed Maina, the embattled former chairman of the Presidential Task Team on Pension Reforms.

President Buhari had on Monday ordered the disengagement of Maina from the civil service following uproar from Nigerians over his reinstatement into the service.

Dasuki Gate: Jonathan, Dasuki fail to appear in court over Metuh’s trial

Hearing resumed on Wednesday in the trial of a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, before the federal high court in Abuja, but former President Goodluck Jonathan and the ex-National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who had been ordered to appear in court, were both absent.

Wrestling champion, Power Uti arraigned over wife’s death, faces death sentence

A former world wrestling champion, John Eke Uti a.k.a. Power Uti, has been arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly killing his wife, Toyin.

Uti, 55, was brought before Magistrate Bola Folarin-Williams on Tuesday, on a two-count charge bordering on murder and disrespect of corpse.

Finally, Malami breaks silence on Maina saga

Nigeria’s attorney general and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, has claimed innocence over his involvement in the controversial return of Abdulrasheed Maina into the federal civil service.

Malami, Winifred Oyo-Ita, head of the federal civil service, and Abdulrahman Dambazau, minister of interior, were all fingered as those who facilitated Maina’s recall into service.
