Tension As Gunmen Kill Five Soldiers In Anambra Community

-Rev. Fr. Lawrence Adorolo was abducted by gunmen along the Auchi-Okpella highway on Wednesday evening.

Another priest of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, Edo State, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Adorolo, has been abducted by some suspected kidnappers.

Naija News gathered that the Catholic Bishop of Auchi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Dunia, said the priest was kidnapped along the Auchi-Okpella highway on Wednesday evening.

“Rev. Fr. Adorolo was on his way back from Auchi to his parish, St. Benedict Catholic Church, Okpella, when he was abducted by unknown gunmen at the bad spot near Okpella, at about 6.00pm on Wednesday evening,” the cleric said.

While reacting to the incident, the Bishop said the abductors committed an abominable act by holding a priest for ransom, who offers selfless service to God and humanity.

“The abductors have made contact with the church for ransom. The church does not pay ransom, as it is not a profit-making organisation,” he said.

He, therefore, called on security agencies to make sure the priest is released unconditionally.
