Audu Maikori regains freedom 24 hours after arrest

Audu Maikori, Chocolate City CEO, has regain freedom, after spending 24 hours in police detention,

Maikori was on Friday arrested by the police for making claims which allegedly exacerbated the Southern Kaduna crisis.

Edward Ayide-Israel, the business development manager of Chocolate City, announced his release on Twitter.

He wrote: “Thanks everyone for #FreeAudu He’s been released. Thanks everyone for your advocacy to #FreeAudu He’s out now. God bless you.

“We owe the release of @Audu to the good work of his lawyer Barr. Mark Jacob and your unending calls to #FreeAudu Great job guys.”

Obiageli Ezekwesili, former minister of education, had earlier on Saturday, said Kaduna state governor Nasir el-Rufai had agreed to release Maikori.
