Jeff attended and graduated from Norwell High School. After graduating from high school, he joined Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he spent his freshman year. He then joined Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and anthropology.

To earn his master of science degree, he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. There she continued to study wildlife conservation and fisheries and also worked with snakes and bats. Additionally, in 1999, she earned an honorary doctorate from Bridgewater in public education. Also in 2018, he was honored with a Doctorate in Sustainability Science from Unity College. Additionally, the US Army Academy of Health Sciences, Fort Sam Houston, Texas also awarded him Advanced Field Medical Specialist certification.

He made his television debut as an expedition naturalist in 1994 for the documentary series titled ‘The JASON Project’. The series had been directed by oceanographer Bob Ballard and sponsored by National Geographic. However, the exact beginning of his career has not been revealed. But he got the first experience of it in 1984 in the tropical jungle of Belize. During his college days, he had worked as an active rainforest conservator in Central and South America. In 1993, regarding the conservation of the tropical forest, he addressed him as a general assembly of the united nations. In addition, he lectures on wildlife, gold mining, ecology, and conservation throughout the United States.

In 2007, he hosted the Travel Channel show “Into Alaska with Jeff Corwin.” In the same year, he became the environment correspondent for Anderson Cooper 360’s special ‘Planet in Peril’, in sponsor CNN, along with co-host neurosurgeon Sanjay Gupta.

His other documentary shows include 2009’s ‘Feeling the Heat’, MSNBC’s ‘Future Earth: 100 Heartbeats’. He became a geologist for MSNBC to help explain a tsunami that hit Japan in 2011. In the same year, he hosted and became the executive producer of ABC’s wildlife adventure show ‘Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin, which aired until 2016.

In 2016, he began hosting his current ABC show ‘Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin’. Additionally, he has appeared in an episode of ‘CSI: Miami’ as himself and played the character’s friend Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez).
